Meet Your Ranger REACH Success Coaches

Maria Guzman Maria Guzman is a success coach located on Ranger Campus. She was once a Ranger student herself and became an TRIO Alumnus. She was born and raised in Durango, Mexico and then moved to Gorman, Texas. Her credentials include an EMT Certificate and an Associate of Science from Ranger College. In addition, she has her Bachelors in General Business with minors in Spanish and Business Management from Tarleton State University. She is currently a member of the International Honor Society in Business and the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success. As an individual who came to Ranger College with a language barrier, she was able to overcome those hardships and achieve success. She strives to help her students succeed in class.

Dona MaldonadoDona Renee’ Maldonado was born in Dallas, Texas. She is a descendant of the Spaniards who came to south Texas to start New Spain in 1736. She attended Mountain View Community College in Dallas for her Associates of Arts and Science degrees. At UT Arlington, she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Communications Management with a minor in Business Management and interned at WBAP Radio Station. Since 2016, she has been at Ranger College as a professional tutor for TRIO/Student Support Services. As a Success Coach with HSI, she hopes to help students find their career path, set educational goals, and succeed through mentorship and relationship.

Calvin Lawrence Dr. Calvin Lawrence worked for Ranger College from 2015 to 2018 as the Dean for Developmental Studies. He returns now as a Success Coach and is thrilled to be a part of the new HSI Initiative. Dr. Lawrence has an extensive background in education, serving as a teacher, coach, athletic director, principal, assistant professor, and dean. He also played Division 1 college football at James Madison University in Virginia. Dr. Lawrence loves to talk about leadership, diversity, and teamwork. He has a passion for speaking and sharing his knowledge with others. HIs educational background includes a Bachelors in Kinesiology from JMU, a Masters in Adapted Physical Education from Texas Christian University, a post-master's certification in mid-management from Texas Women's University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Baylor University.

Christie Stroia

  Christie Stroia is a native of Eastland County. She graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Art from Cisco College in 1992. She later went on to graduate from Hardin-Simmons University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Studio Art and a minor in English Literature. Christie has taught almost every grade level, from pre-K through college undergraduate. Her hobbies include photography, journaling, and kayaking. She loves helping students to find their path to success and encouraging them along the way.
