Palo Pinto State Park

Check out  Palo Pinto Mountains State Park! It’s a brand-new state park being developed not too far from Ranger—about 20 minutes. It’s actually one of the first large state parks Texas has added in decades, so it’s a pretty big deal.

The park covers over 4,800 acres of really scenic land—lots of rolling hills, canyons, and big open views. There's a lake right in the middle called Tucker Lake, which will be great for fishing, kayaking, or just relaxing by the water. The area has that rugged Texas vibe, with wildlife like deer, wild turkeys, and even the occasional bobcat.

It’s not open to the public just yet—they’re still building out trails, campsites, and a visitor center—but once it’s finished, it’ll have hiking and biking trails, spots for camping (both primitive and developed), and areas for picnicking or horseback riding.

The whole idea is to give people a way to enjoy the outdoors without having to drive too far from the Dallas–Fort Worth area. If you like state parks or just getting outside, this one’s going to be worth keeping an eye on. They're hoping to start opening parts of it by late 2025 or early 2026.

Majestic Theatre in Eastland

Catch a movie at the nearby Majestic Theater. Located right in downtown Eastland, the Majestic is a proud part of the town’s history and a great place to catch a movie or take in a show. Whether you're just visiting or live nearby, it’s a fun spot to experience a bit of small-town Texas culture!
