Montgomery GI Bill® (Chapter 30)
The Montgomery GI Bill® (Chapter 30) provides education benefits to veterans who have served on active duty and contributed to the program during their military service.
What the Benefit Covers
- Monthly education benefit payments sent directly to the student
- Can be used for tuition, fees, and other education-related expenses
- Eligible for degree programs, certificates, and some training programs
Eligibility Requirements
- Must have served on active duty
- Must have contributed to the MGIB program while in service
- Must have an honorable discharge
- Must meet VA service and time-in-service requirements

How to Apply
First-Time Users:
Apply online at https://www.va.gov/education/ and complete VA Form 22-1990 (Application for Educational Benefits) to receive your Certificate of Eligibility (COE).
Returning Users:
Complete VA Form 22-1995 (Change of Program or Place of Training) at https://www.va.gov/education/.
Required Documents
Submit the following to the Financial Aid Office:
- Certificate of Eligibility (COE)
- DD-214
- Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges
- VA Request for Certification Form
- Degree Plan (completed by your advisor)
