Security Cameras & Campus Security

Ranger College provides campus safety through a security department composed of commissioned security officers. These officers are licensed to carry firearms and are authorized to protect students, staff, and property within all areas under the College’s control, including off-campus facilities.

The department operates under the leadership of a Chief of Security and collaborates with local law enforcement agencies through memoranda of understanding to ensure coordinated emergency responses. Use of force, including the use of firearms, is authorized only when necessary and in accordance with department policy. The College does not authorize the use of drones for force.

Complaints regarding campus security officers should be submitted in accordance with applicable College grievance procedures, including policies DGBA (employees), FLD (students), or GB (public) which can be found on the College’s website.

Security cameras are located throughout the college dormitories and in certain other locations within the College. These cameras have been installed for student security and exist solely to make the campus a safe and secure facility. Tampering with or disabling cameras in any way is a most serious offense punishable by fines and/or dismissal. Interfering with the operation of security cameras may endanger other students and the well-being of the College.
