Committee Overview
The scholarship committee is responsible for the review of scholarship applications and coordination of planning and implementation efforts for the annual scholarship awards.

At least once during fall and spring semesters
To create aid in the implementation of, and evaluate the effectiveness of the Master Recruiting Plan with the following goals:
- Oversee the annual scholarships and to ensure the timely and fair disposition of scholarship funds.
- Publish and update scholarships available on website and catalog
- Publicize and solicit applications
- Evaluate the eligibility of all applicants without bias
- Assemble selection recommendations based on the established objective criteria for each scholarship
- Award scholarships in accordance to the specific selection criteria and requirements of each applicable scholarship
- Reach independent decisions without potential or perceived influence caused by a conflict of interest
- Scholarship committee members should avoid any situation where personal or business relationships could have, or give the appearance of having, undue influence on the member’s judgment in matters under consideration.
- In case of a potential conflict of interest, the member shall declare the conflict, and refrain from participating in the discussions and decision-making process
- Maintain records for auditing purposes
- Ensure compliance with college, state, and federal scholarship procedures and regulations
- Operate with the goal of creating a system of excellence that ensures student success, to fulfill the institution’s mission: to transform lives and give students the skills to be a positive influence in their communities.
