The Ranger College Lady Rangers are one of the top softball teams in the Northern Texas Junior Athletic Conference. The team has won numerous conference championships since it was formed in the 1980s by Ranger College coaching legend Ron Butler. The team’s current field is named after Butler, who served as a coach and administrator at the college for more than three decades. The Lady Rangers have put several players into the NCAA Division I ranks in recent years, including Julia Wright (UTEP) and Shelby Neatherlin, Macey Marino and Mackenzie Stark (Incarnate Word). The Lady Rangers are coached by Sara Cammer.
