Graduation
The Ranger College graduation ceremony is the culmination of hard work and dedication of our students. Ranger College provides three different ceremonies during the academic year; December, May and August. Students from every program offered are encouraged to attend.
Is there a fee to walk at the ceremony?
Students who qualify to walk at the graduation ceremony will receive a cap, gown, tassel, and cords (if applicable) for free. Students who are in the Ranger College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa will also receive a gold stole signifying their membership to the honor society.
What are the qualifications to walk at the ceremony?
In order to qualify to walk at a graduation ceremony, students must be completing all requirements for their respective degree or certificate. Students that are completing their degree, passing all classes (at the time of the ceremony) and attending the ceremony are exempt from that semester’s final exams.
Students who are no more than two courses away from completing the requirements for their degree are also eligible to walk at the ceremony but they are not exempt from their final exams.
Graduating and participating – is there a difference?
As described above, students are allowed to participate in the ceremony even if they are not completing their degree. Students that are not completing their degree will not receive their official diploma or have their degree noted on their transcript until all coursework for the degree or certificate has been completed.
What is the process to apply to graduate?
Potential graduates must apply to graduate by submitting an Application for Degree. After being submitted, the application is received by the Registrar’s Office. The Registrar then processes a degree audit and contacts the student concerning their eligibility.
