One of the most storied programs in NJCAA history, the Rangers have served as a launching pad for several future Major League Baseball standouts and coaches. Ranger College has won a pair of national baseball championships, winning it all in 1973 and 1978 under Hall of Fame coach Jack Allen. Today, under head coach Scott Norwood, Ranger consistently fields one of the more competitive teams in Region V. Among the RC alumni to have appeared at the MLB level are Ellis Burks (for whom the college’s baseball field is named), Donnie Moore, Jim Morris, Pedro Bourbon Jr. and Hector Ortiz. Ranger College also fields a competitive junior varsity baseball program.
